Find out how the IT equipment buyback process works and get the most out of your unused equipment through a simple, secure, fast…and sustainable process.
Leaders in Data Center Dismantling
A data center decommissioning project is an important step in a company’s equipment replacement process that requires effective planning, coordinated efforts, and the assurance that the live environment will not be affected. MercadoIT’s asset buyback management provides a simple, secure, and fast process for managing the decommissioning project and ensuring that all activities outside the company’s environment are properly managed.
MercadoIT operates through defined processes and robust project management. These processes ensure that data is destroyed in accordance with the client’s requirements, that inventory is accurately audited and tracked, that the client gets the most value out of their equipment, and that, if necessary, equipment is recycled properly.
How the IT Equipment Buyback Process Works
Complete dismantling, auditing, data erasure, asset resale, and recycling—all to streamline the buyback process for your unused professional IT equipment.
Consulting
We review the list of products and their technical specifications, along with your specific logistical and technical requirements.
The customer sends a list of the equipment they want to resell or no longer use. Our professional technicians analyze each product and evaluate its technical specifications, as well as the customer’s specific requirements—such as whether they will need logistical support or require any significant technical assistance.
Assessment
Once the list is complete and we have identified your specific needs, we can provide a fair appraisal so that you can get the most out of reselling your unused assets.
Pickup and Transportation
Once the inventory is verified and the data is destroyed, the assets are packed, secured, and prepared for shipment through specialized companies.
MercadoIT coordinates the shipment of assets from its facility to one of our processing facilities. We handle all logistics and ensure a secure chain of custody.
Receiving and Inventory
Assets are tracked individually by serial number, ensuring an accurate inventory of their technical specifications. We streamline this process so you can get the most out of every product you’ve sent us with minimal effort.
Data Deletion
We recommend that digital data be erased while the assets are still on the customer's premises. MercadoIT is an official partner of Blancco, the global leader in data erasure, and guarantees a secure solution for magnetic hard drives, solid-state drives, and optical storage devices.
We provide a data destruction certificate.
Audit
We thoroughly and automatically audit all products, capturing all technical specifications.
Payment
Once all the material has been processed and the report on the client’s equipment and specifications has been sent, and the quote has been accepted, the client issues us an invoice for the final amount, and we proceed to pay the agreed-upon amount.
Resale and Recycling
Once this buyback process is complete, MercadoIT returns the IT equipment to the market in perfect working order. Our established resale channels throughout Europe ensure fast, secure, and profitable sales.
Any obsolete equipment that cannot be refurbished undergoes a safe and environmentally responsible recycling process in accordance with current regulations. We do not send products to landfills.
